Together
Group chats
Add pong to an iMessage or WhatsApp group. It speaks when it's called, and each person's pong acts for its own owner.
Add the pong number to a group chat the way you'd add a friend. It reads along, stays quiet, and jumps in when someone calls it. If several people in the group have pong, each pong shows up with its owner's name and acts only for them.

Calling pong#
| App | How to call pong |
|---|---|
| iMessage | Say pong or @pong in your message |
| @-tag pong, reply to one of pong's messages, or say pong |
pong only speaks when it's called. It answers the message that called it, with the thread in mind, in one short reply. If someone else already said it, pong stays quiet. The first time it's called in a new group, it introduces itself in one line and notes that the group's conversation is visible to its pongs.
Whose pong answers#
- When you call pong, your pong answers and uses your accounts, your calendar and your permissions.
- When Maya calls pong, her pong answers. Nobody can make your pong spend your money, send your email or touch your calendar from a group.
- Someone in the group who doesn't have pong yet gets a short nudge to text pong and get their own.
What stays private#
- Things said in a group stay in that group. pong doesn't carry them into your DMs or another chat unless you ask.
- Your private memory, mail and calendar never come up in a group unless you ask for something that needs them.
- Files pong makes for you in a group (a sheet, an export) go to your DM, not the group thread.
Good things to do in a group#
- Plan: "@pong what's the plan for saturday?" with the thread as context.
- Book and invite: find the table, book it on your yes, and drop a calendar invite everyone can tap.
- Split: drop a photo of the receipt and say "@pong split this between me, leo and maya". See Pong Cash for paying each other.
- Settle it: "@pong is the cabin pet friendly?"
See your groups#
The crew page on your dashboard lists the iMessage and WhatsApp groups pong is in, with who's in each.
