Quickstart

Get access, text pong for the first time, and open your dashboard.

There's nothing to install. pong lives in the messaging app you already use, and your phone number is your account.

    Get access

    pong is in an early free beta and opens in waves. Join at trypong.app. If someone on the team gave you a referral code (it looks like PONG-XXXX), enter it when you sign up and you're in right away. Without one you go on the waitlist.

    Text pong

    iMessage or SMS: +1 (606) 465-5569. WhatsApp: +1 (263) 378-3675. Say hey, or just start with a task. A first message that's already a job just gets done.

    Open your dashboard

    Go to trypong.app/dashboard and sign in with your phone number and the one-time code sent to your phone. There's no password. See the dashboard tour.

    Connect what you use

    Text "connect my email" or use the dashboard to link Gmail or Outlook (mail, calendar and contacts in one step), plus apps like GitHub, Slack or Notion. See Email and calendar.

    Bring your people

    Add pong to a group chat and say @pong. Invite friends who have pong to your crew. See Group chats and Crew.

logins and passwords go in your vault. i use a saved login when a site asks you to sign in. the password never shows up in the chat.

A first hello. No form, no setup questions. pong picks up your name from what it can see.

One pong, every channel#

iMessage, WhatsApp and SMS from the same phone number all reach the same pong, with the same memory and the same computer. To add the other app later, open trypong.app/start?channel=whatsapp or trypong.app/start?channel=imessage. SMS uses the iMessage number automatically.

Good first things to try#

  • "compare the sony xm6 and the bose qc ultra and tell me which one to get"
  • "find me a table for 4 friday around 8, somewhere good near the old port"
  • "every weekday at 7, text me my day and anything urgent in my inbox"
  • "watch this page and tell me when the price drops under $120" with a link
  • "what did i pay for my flight to toronto?" once your mailbox is connected
  • Drop a photo of a receipt in a group and say "@pong split this"

Usage during the beta

pong is free while it's in beta. There are daily usage limits, and they reset at midnight in your timezone (pong works it out from your phone number). If you hit one, pong tells you.
